Affiliate Of The Month

April 3rd, 2007 by Joseph Asante - Comments: None

This is a brief review of the brand new (out today) Ewen Chia’s “Affiliate Of The Month”.

The product comes in 3 parts and each module consists of a series of videos and a small, easy-to-read eBook.

There is also simple checklist to follow to ensure that you do everything you need to succeed.

Before I get into it though, I would like to mention a few things.

All of the included videos are clear, well produced and the narration is easy to understand.

I don’t think that Ewen is the narrator, because I have always found him difficult to understand, but I could be wrong.

Each video is short and to the point and basically explains a particular section in more detail.

The videos and eBooks don’t go into huge amounts of detail, but they certainly give you enough information to get you started, or point you in the right direction.

If you are an experienced affiliate marketer you may not learn anything new.

On the other hand, you may come across something you never thought of before, and go looking for products with more in-depth information on a particular topic.

I certainly did.

Here is an outline of the included modules:

Module 1 - Basics
=================

This consists of a 15-page eBook & 9 Videos

This book gives you an overview of affiliate marketing, explains the mindset of that you will need and basically motivates you to get going.

You will find that the most valuable lesson that you will take away from this module is that of the affiliate mindset.

You will learn exactly what it takes, and what you need to do, in order to become a successful affiliate marketer.

Module 2 - 7 Strategies For Beating Your Competitors
====================================================

This consists of a 28-page eBook & 8 Videos

Now, you will probably find that this module is worth the price of Affiliate Of The Month, all on its own.

I personally found strategies 3, 4 & 5 invaluable and will definitely be implementing them immediately.

They may not be new to the very experienced affiliate marketers, but they were to me.

With this module, Ewen, also provides you with his own script for cloaking affiliate links, called Link Shrinker.

I haven’t used it myself, because I am perfectly happy with Mike Filsaime’s Power Link Generator, so I can’t really comment on it.

I am not entirely convinced that Ewen actually uses the script himself, because there is a resource box, which I believe he uses to promote other products.

Besides, Ewen is currently offering Affiliate Of The Month members a significant discount on two of Mike Filsaime’s products:

The Butterfly Marketing Manuscript and Power Link Generator (a link cloaker).

Module 3 - Traffic Generation
=============================

56-page eBook & 17 Videos

Shows you how to use the following 16 methods to generate traffic:

PPC

Articles

Press Releases

Viral Reports

Classified Ads

Reviews

Forums

Traffic Generators (like Traffic Swarm)

Blogs

Ezine Ads

Offline Ads

Social Networks (like My Space)

Social Bookmarking (like Digg)

Q&A’s

Videos

23-Step Cheat Sheet
===================
4-page checklist outlining 23 steps to help you succeed with your affiliate marketing campaigns.

Bonuses
=======

Here Ewen excels himself.

As a member of Affiliate Of The Month, you get a substantial discount on Mike Filsaime’s Butterfly Marketing Manuscript and Power Link Generator.

If you are more interested in promoting it as an affiliate, then you will get a generous 70% commission on the front-end and two back-end products.

Ewen will also pay the top 3 affiliates an additional $200 - $500 per month via Paypal.

The icing on the cake: Each month, Ewen will provide the top 3 affiliates with FREE publicity and will personally interview them in a Teleseminar.

How’s that for great exposure?

Ewen also provides you with plenty of tools to promote Affiliate of the Month, so what you are waiting for?

How To Track And Measure Your Results

December 3rd, 2005 by Joseph Asante - Comments: None

In ‘The Key Elements Of An Effective Web Site’, I mentioned that you need to Boost The Traffic To Your Web Site, because you can’t increase your profits if you don’t have any visitors.

In order to determine whether your web site is offering a competitive advantage, here are some of the things that you should keep track of:

How Many People Visit A Day?

Where Do Your Visitors Come From? - Which web sites and search engines do your visitors come from?

Once you find out where your traffic is coming from, you can adapt your marketing accordingly and eliminate campaigns that are not working for you.

Which Web Pages Do Your Visitors Visit The Most? - Once you have determined which pages are the most popular on your web site, you should be able to work out why.

It could be due to interesting articles, good web copy or something else; but once you have determined why the pages are popular, you can amend your other pages accordingly.

How To Boost Your Web Site Traffic

December 2nd, 2005 by Joseph Asante - Comments: None

In ‘The Key Elements Of An Effective Web Site’, I mentioned that you should Boost The Traffic To Your Web Site, because you can’t increase your profits if you don’t have any visitors.

Here are some ways of driving traffic to your web site:

Use Search Engine Marketing to increase your organic search engine ranking and increase your conversion rates.

You can either employ somebody like myself to help you with this, or do it all yourself using some (or all) of the Search Engine Optimization products and services that I recommend.

This FREE Search Engine Marketing Software is a great way to get you started.

Exchange Links With Other Web Sites that serve your target market and ask them to link back (Reciprocal Linking)

This can be easily automated by using software such as SEO Elite or FREE services like Link Metro.

Thanking Your Visitors

November 29th, 2005 by Joseph Asante - Comments: None

In ‘The Key Elements Of An Effective Web Site’, I mentioned that you should Use Autoresponders to automatically thank visitors for leaving their contact information.

Autoresponders are far more useful than that though, because they provide an excellent system for capturing EMail addresses, responding automatically and following up with your prospects.

Autoresponders allow you to tap into your best pool of prospects:

1. Your past customers

2. New prospects who have left their contact details

Your first message to your new prospect should be a ‘Thank You’, along with with a promise that you will get back to them as soon as possible.

Lead Your Prospects Through Your Web Site

November 17th, 2005 by Joseph Asante - Comments: 1

In ‘The Key Elements Of An Effective Web Site’, I mentioned that you should Design Web Site Navigation That Leads Your Prospects, so they will go where YOU want them to go and, hopefully, do what YOU want them to do.

Depending on what you want your visitors to do, develop a clear, simple path to help them do it.

You can quite easily design a web site with great navigation using the techniques outlined in a great little book by Steve Krug.

If you live in the UK, be sure to buy Don’t Make Me Think!: A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability.

You guys in the US, can also get it, but buy it from Here.

It really is a great little book, full of great examples of web sites with good navigation and useful tips.

Be Accessible From Your Web Site

November 15th, 2005 by Joseph Asante - Comments: None

In ‘The Key Elements Of An Effective Web Site’, I mentioned that you should Have A Contact Page That Makes It Easy To Reach You, because it gives you more credibility and makes you seem more accessible.

Some people don’t like to make contact via EMail or forms, so they may well give you a call.

If you get a lot of EMail, then consider using an autoresponder such as Aweber, Email Aces or GetResponse, to let them know that you have received their EMail and will deal with it as soon as you can.

Whatever you decide to do though, make sure you respond to any enquiries as soon as you can.

You should also make sure that you are kind and courteous in all your correspondence, because you could be talking to your next client.

You may want to consider adding a photo to your ‘Contact’ page as well.

I already have a photo on my ‘About‘ page, but I am also going to add a different photo to my ‘Contact‘ page as well.

Adding a photo can have a negative affect, because a prospect may not like the look of you, but tests show that people prefer to see who they are dealing with.

Do NOT Use Fancy Flash Animation

November 14th, 2005 by Joseph Asante - Comments: None

In ‘The Key Elements Of An Effective Web Site’, I mentioned that it is better to Use Compelling Content Instead Of Fancy Flash Intro’s And Graphics, to get your Most Wanted Response.

Studies show that web sites with compelling content get a better response than those with fancy flash animation and graphics.

Even with broadband, visitors find it very annoying to wait for fancy animations to download and would rather read something of interest to them.

So, don’t spend ages designing an all-singing, all-dancing flash animation, because your visitors will probably skip it and all your hard work will have been for nothing.

Your visitors want something of value and they want it now!

By all means, use some graphics on your web site to make it interesting, but don’t let them overshadow your content.

Use headlines to highlight benefits to your visitors and compel them to read on.

Of course, if you are an animator or graphic designer, then by all means show off your work.

Just show it off on your ‘Portfolio’ page or something.

Content That Builds Trust

November 11th, 2005 by Joseph Asante - Comments: None

In ‘The Key Elements Of An Effective Web Site’, I mentioned that you should Add Content That Builds Trust And Establishes Your Credibility with your prospects.

You really need to convince your customers that you not only understand their problems, but can help solve them.

The web is an anonymous place, so you need to show your visitors that you can get them results.

Here are some great ways of doing this:

Case Studies - Here you can give examples of ‘Before and After’ situations relating to your clients.

This helps your visitors picture themselves owning your products or using your services.

Testimonials - You can never underestimate the power of testimonials, because they can add enormous power to your copy.

If you say something nice about your business people think you’re an egotist, but if someone else says something great about your business it adds credibility.

The best testimonials to use are ones that tell about specific results a client has achieved.

Web Stimulation boosted my search engine ranking from 500 to 15″ - Clark Kent

Testimonials can be in written or in audio format, but there is now an increasing tendency to use both.

Oh, please make sure that your testimonials are real, because these things have a habit of coming back to haunt you.

Incidentally, I have never done any work for Clark Kent (AKA Superman).

Providing Free, Valuable Information

November 11th, 2005 by Joseph Asante - Comments: None

In ‘The Key Elements Of An Effective Web Site’, I mentioned that you should Provide Plenty Of FREE, Valuable Information And Offers to your prospects.

This is an excellent way of keeping your visitors interested and will get them to give you their contact information.

Here are a few things that you could give away for FREE:

Creating A Web Site About THEM

November 11th, 2005 by Joseph Asante - Comments: None

In ‘The Key Elements Of An Effective Web Site’, I mentioned that you should Create A Web Site About THEM And Not About YOU.

I cannot stress how important this is.

You need to focus on your visitors and on the issues that concern THEM.

If you are exceptionally attentive to their needs, then they will relax, pay more attention and be more susceptible to what you have to offer.

Just think of yourself as a host showing visitors around your little home on the web.

To that end, try and devote 75% - 90% of your web copy to the problems that your target market faces.

Only spend about 10% - 25% of your time speaking about your products and services.

This will make you appear more understanding and helps build trust.

When checking your web copy, a general rule of thumb is this:

You should use the word ‘You’, two or three times more than you use the words ‘We’ and ‘Our’.

Of course, it is quite acceptable to talk about yourself on an ‘About’ page.

Just don’t go over the top.
